The MTCM is in the exciting position to dramatically expand our services and expertise, allowing us to take a leadership role in impacting educational reform, especially in the realm of early childhood education. When completed, the expanded Montessori Training Center of Minnesota will stand as the only facility of its kind in the United States, attracting national and international attention and resources. The Timeless Education for a New World campaign is the right vehicle to make this dream a reality.

The Need for Expansion and Growth

Current concerns over the state of education and other societal demands are driving our expansion plans. These include the demand for:
  • Authentic first-rate Montessori programs at all developmental age levels continue to grow locally, nationally, and internationally. As parents and educators search for methods that work, Montessori has answered with significant gains and lasting impact in many communities. Both public and private Montessori schools continue to grow and expand, yet still have waiting lists.

  • Highly-qualified, well-trained Montessori teachers at all levels is at a record high. Many schools throughout the country need to financially sponsor the training of teachers to ensure placement in their schools. The MTCM receives calls daily from schools around the country seeking well-trained Montessori teachers.

  • Implementing the best practices of Montessori to a much larger contingency, with a focus on the neediest children and families, the MTCM will develop and/or expand its outreach programs to serve children, families and early childhood professionals. We will host numerous classes, workshops, lectures and trainings for anyone interested in having an impact on the lives of children.

  • Conducting additional research to further prove what Montessorians already know and anti-poverty advocates are just discovering that Montessori is good for the developing brains of children living in less than ideal circumstances.

  • Workshops and professional development for teachers, parents and other childcare providers. In order to meet this demand, we need greater physical space and many more dedicated volunteers who can help with these opportunities.
